Hull cover for boats and yachts

Damage in winter storage, fire and explosion, storm, hail, lightning and earthquake, theft of the whole boat, insurance at replacement value and salvage costs. It does not cover damage you cause yourself.

Everything from limited cover plus an all-risks approach: collision with fixed or floating objects, grounding, stranding, capsizing and sinking, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard motor, the single most frequently stolen item on the water.

Settlement follows the agreed value: the sum stated in the policy is paid on total loss without deduction for age or use, and partial losses are settled without new-for-old deductions. In the premium tariff the agreed value applies without limit, gross negligence is covered up to 50 per cent of the sum insured, and breakdown assistance and inspection costs are included.

Conventional hull cover responds to external events, not to internal engine damage. The optional machinery extension adds an all-risks cover for material, design and operating errors on the main engine, gearbox, shaft and propeller as well as cooling, water treatment and power generation systems.
