How to cancel with APK Versicherung AG

Open-ended contracts can be ended by either side only at the end of the current insurance period; the notice is set in the policy and lies between one and three months (section 8(2) of the Austrian Insurance Contract Act, VersVG). A consumer who signed for more than three years may cancel at the end of the third year and each later year with one month's notice (section 8(3) VersVG).

Give your policy number, your name and the date, and ask for confirmation of receipt.

Reporting a claim to APK Versicherung AG

  1. Report the loss as early as you can; policy conditions almost always require prompt notice.
  2. Keep the damage as small as is reasonable and do not throw anything away before the insurer has seen it.
  3. Collect photos, receipts and names of witnesses; for burglary and theft you also need a police report.
