How the place works
The bora drops cold over the coastal mountains and in gusts easily reaches twice the reported wind. It does not build gradually, it snaps on, and it is highly local: between the islands calm and raging patches lie side by side. The main season is October to March; in summer it comes short and hard.
What breaks there
Boats at anchor and in bays are almost always the ones affected. The anchor breaks out, the boat goes sideways, and the damage happens on the shore or on the neighbour. Add sprayhood and cover, which go first, and fittings that tear out of the deck.
