How the place works
Thousands of rocks, many of them just below the surface and unmarked. The official channels are narrow and well buoyed, but a metre outside can be a boulder, and the chart does not show every one. The water is clear, which deceives: depth cannot be judged from above.
What breaks there
Grounding is the damage here, and because of the hard granite it turns out differently than on sand: keel, keel bolts and hull root take the full energy, often with cracks in the laminate that only show in the crane.
What this means for your policy
After grounding on rock the boat belongs out of the water before going on. Check whether the policy pays for the inspection and whether it covers damage to the keel root without deduction for age or wear.
