Which flag is flying here?

When leisure skippers need flags

The yellow Q tells the harbour you still have to clear in, for instance after a passage from outside the area you are entering. On a race course the racing rules give some flags their own meaning: P is the preparatory signal and X the individual recall.

For celebrations a boat is dressed overall, every flag on one line from the bow over the masthead to the stern. And anyone who sees or hoists O thinks of the most important signal of all: man overboard.
