The last hour before dark belongs to the harbour entrance, not to making miles. Anyone entering an unfamiliar harbour after dark picks out buoys and pierhead lights among the street lamps, and misses shoals that would be obvious by day.
A night passage is not a question of cover but of preparation. For boats and yachts hull cover usually applies around the clock. Night clauses are found mainly in jet ski policies, for example between 22:00 and 08:00. Check too whether your policy requires an immobiliser.
