How the place works
The Untersee is much shallower than the Obersee, and current runs in the Seerhein between Konstanz and Gottlieben. The level varies by more than a metre and a half through the year: what carries water in June is silt in February.
What breaks there
Grounding in the shallows outside the channel, propeller and rudder damage in the reed belt, and contact with pontoons at unusually low water. Rarely serious, but frequent.
What this means for your policy
A boat on Lake Constance needs registration under the lake's navigation rules, and the policy assumes it. Also check whether grounding is covered without a wear deduction on the drive.
