Handover record for a boat, to print out
The sheet records the condition at the moment of handover: who is involved and why, the boat details, the condition in eight groups, the inventory, the papers and the signature of both sides. It suits a sale and a purchase, the start and the return of a charter, the yard and winter storage. After a loss it is your proof from day one. Printed it comes out as two A4 sheets: the first carries the five sections, the second the insurance note and the signatures.

Insurance note
This record documents the condition at the moment of handover and is an important piece of evidence after a loss. Under German insurance law (§ 95 VVG) an existing hull policy passes to the buyer unless one side cancels within a month, while liability cover ends with the sale. Outside Germany other rules may apply, so ask. It is best to take out your own cover before the handover, then the lift and the road transport are covered too.
