The 66th Genoa Boat Show, the Salone Nautico Internazionale, ended on 6 October 2026 and closes its books with 138,273 registered visitors. The organiser, Confindustria Nautica, reports an increase of 11.3 per cent on the 2025 edition. More than 1,000 boats were on show from exhibitors in 45 countries, including 215 new models, and 1,287 journalists were accredited.

The more telling figure is what happened on the water: the organiser counts more than 4,600 sea trials across the six show days. Genoa displays a large share of its boats afloat, and prospective buyers take them out before they sign. According to the organiser, yards concluded orders and contracts during the show; it gives no sales figures.

Genoa is keeping its October slot. The 67th edition runs from 30 September to 5 October 2027, again at the end of the Mediterranean season, so owners berthed on the Riviera, the Adriatic or in the Balearics can once more combine a visit with the last passage of the year or with laying up.

What this means for owners

A sea trial at a show means handling a boat that neither belongs to you nor is insured in your name. Before casting off it is worth asking who is liable if something goes wrong, whether the yard or dealer carries cover for trials and whether their skipper stays aboard. That applies to motor boats, RIBs and sailing yachts alike, and above all to larger twin engine boats that handle very differently from your own in a tight harbour basin. Claims experience shows that incidents on such trips tend to happen while leaving or coming alongside, not out at sea.
