Show us your boat
We see boats as a line of data every day: builder, year, length, value. That is the dullest way to describe a boat. This page is about the other way: what she is called, where she sails, and why she is this one and not another.
An entry is small: name, type, length, area, one photograph, one sentence. No profile, no account, no password. You send it in, we put it up.
Four things we leave out on purpose
We are insurers. We see what ends up in the report after a theft, and we know how thieves look for boats. That is why this list is not a formality but the reason the page can exist at all.
No home port and no berth. A public list of which boat lies where is a shopping list. The cruising area is enough: western Baltic, Ionian, Adriatic.
No readable registration in the picture. We blur registration marks and hull numbers if you have not already done so.
No real name. The entry is about the boat, not the person. A first name if you like, nothing more.
No value and no inventory. What is aboard and what it was worth is nobody's business who did not pay for it.
If a submission contains one of those four things, we take it out and publish the rest. We write to you when we change anything.

What happens to your submission
Your submission arrives here as an email and goes nowhere else. A person in the office reads it, checks it and only then puts it on the page. Nothing is published automatically. Your name does not appear anywhere, nor your address: what gets published is the substance itself. If we do not understand something, we write to you. If we decide not to publish your submission, we tell you that as well.
The other ways to contribute
The wall is one of four. The others collect hazards, real costs and questions.
