On the water since 2005

This story does not start in a corporate tower. It starts in a family firm south east of Berlin, where the rivers Dahme and Spree open into a chain of lakes, and where the people placing insurance spent their weekends on the water. The two grew together: in the trade since 1989, with boats as the core of the business since 2005.

NAMMERT Assekuradeur GmbH, Karl-Marx-Straße 4, 15711 Königs Wusterhausen, Germany, was founded in 2024. As an Assekuradeur, the German term for a managing general agent, it designs its own cover concepts. It is not an insurer: the risk carrier is Württembergische Versicherung AG, which decides on claims. Policies are placed by the insurance broker Norman Nammert. The company is registered at the local court of Cottbus under HRB 18234; both the company and the broker are listed in the German register of insurance intermediaries. Besides the head office there are offices in Salzburg and Palma de Mallorca, and advice is given in German, English and Spanish.

Milestones along the way

  • 1989

The beginning: insurance as a craft

Heidrun Nammert sets up on her own shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall, working out of the family flat. No specialism yet, but the rule that still applies: explain a contract instead of selling it. The house calls it insurance without the jargon.

    The first decade
  • The region supplies the subject

Königs Wusterhausen sits in the middle of the Brandenburg lakes, with the Havel and the Mecklenburg lake district further on. Anyone who grows up here knows boats and the questions their owners ask. A side line became the core business: insurance for water sports.

    Jet skiing becomes a passion

In 2005 Norman Nammert buys his first jet ski and takes up the sport himself. Out of that closeness came the first NAMMERT jet ski cover, written for riders by a rider.

    The second generation takes over

After his mother's early death, Norman Nammert takes over the agency and reshapes it together with his wife Juliane: away from paper, towards cover that can be calculated online from start to finish.

    European champions in Poland

The NAMMERT jet ski racing team wins the European title in Poland in the Stock Pro AM class. Racing is not a photo for the brochure here: whoever starts a race knows what can go wrong in one.

Rated by customers, every year since

Since 2019 the German review platform Ausgezeichnet.org has listed NAMMERT as a top service provider, eight years in a row by now. Across all platforms the rating stands at 4.98 out of 5 from 5,042 reviews. How those figures are made up is set out on where reviews come from.

    2019 to 2026
  • Early with new kinds of propulsion

A tariff for electric and hybrid boats arrives early, followed by cover for e-foils and jet surfboards. Both came about because customers turned up with craft that no tariff list had heard of.

    NAMMERT Assekuradeur GmbH

The limited company is founded as an underwriting agency, with its own cover concepts and its own policy wordings. The contracts are placed by Norman Nammert as a broker, with the same short lines of contact.

  • Salzburg and Palma de Mallorca

Owners no longer keep their boats only in German harbours. With offices in Salzburg and Palma de Mallorca the house is where its customers sail: at the edge of the Alps and in the Mediterranean.

  • Today: more than 2,000 partners, three offices

The family firm has become a network of more than 2,000 partners: broker pools, intermediaries, dealers, boatyards and surveyors. What stayed is the shop front office on Karl-Marx-Straße, where a person picks up when the phone rings.

Three things that have not changed

We go out on the water ourselves. Everyone in the house holds the German recreational boating licences for coastal and inland waters. Whoever handles your call has usually been in the same spot on the water.

A place with a door. No call centre, no recorded voice: an office in Königs Wusterhausen where you can drop in, by appointment.

Plain words. Wordings you can follow and answers without jargon, the standard set in 1989. The person behind the brand has a page of his own.
