Norman Nammert, broker and underwriting agent

The starting point was not a business plan but a gap. In 2005 Nammert bought his first jet ski and found that nobody offered insurance that fitted it properly. So he wrote a tariff himself. One tariff became a family of them, for boats and yachts of every kind and, early on, for e-foils.

Knowing the risks of the sport is not a slogan in his case. He races. In 2016 his jet ski racing team won the European title in Poland in the Stock Pro AM class.

He grew up between Mecklenburg and Brandenburg and learned to sail at the Hermann Lietz School on Spiekeroog, a boarding school on a North Sea island where sailing is part of the timetable.

Insurance runs through the family. His mother Heidrun set up on her own shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and built an agency for the German insurer LVM out of the family flat in Bestensee. After her early death in 2009 he took the business over and, together with his wife Juliane, turned it towards water sports, digital processes and speed. In 2024 he received the OMGV Makler Award in the customer reviews category, a category judged by customers rather than by a jury. For years the NAMMERT stand was a fixture at the Interboot show in Friedrichshafen and at Boot & Fun in Berlin, with a branded motorhome, jet ski shows and rides. Today the house no longer exhibits and advises all year round instead.
