How the place works
Up to four knots of current, and with wind against tide a short, steep sea builds within a short time that has little to do with the wind strength. Wide flats lie alongside the fairway, and anyone wanting out of the stream often has only the choice between traffic and shallows.
What breaks there
What breaks here breaks from slamming: fittings, steering gear, electronics. Add engine failures when sand or silt is ingested, and the grounding that follows a move to the edge to give way.

Two questions are worth asking: whether the inspection after a grounding is paid for, and whether there is machinery cover that also includes ingested material. Both occur here more often than the value of the boat would suggest.
