The Brandaris models form the core, with the Barkas series at 8.45 and 11 metres, the 850 variants as open and de luxe, the Limited Edition and the Q52 as the largest boat at 16 metres. The Mogano Launch 780 completes the picture, and lengths run from 7.8 to 16 metres.
For insurance purposes that spread is the decisive point with 't Wije Watersport: an open eight metre boat and a 16 metre yacht call for very different cover, so value and cruising area belong in the application in precise form. On the Barkas models from the 1999 to 2013 years an agreed value is preferable to a depreciated value. As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
