Waydoo; cover, cost and conditions
Waydoo builds entry-level e-foils in China; the Flyer ONE+ is priced well below the European manufacturers and has opened the e-foil market to newcomers. For the insurance, entry-level segment means above all this: the riders are new to the sport, and most damage occurs in the first few hours. Grounding with the foil in shallow water is the classic beginner damage.
This damage is covered by full hull cover: collision, grounding, a fall with consequential damage to the foil. Not covered are wear and tear and damage from improper operation contrary to the instructions. In practice the difference is usually clear: damage to the foil during a ride in a designated area is an accident, while damage to the foil while starting in knee-deep water against the specification of the manufacturer is an operating error.
With the battery, charging discipline is especially important on devices in this price class. Charge only with the supplied charger, in the intended case, under supervision and not in a room with other boats. Under these conditions fire and thermal runaway are covered. For operation, registration marking applies from 3 hp, and in Bavaria as well as on Lake Constance there is a ban.

Is beginner damage to the foil covered?
Yes, grounding and a fall with consequential damage are insured under full hull cover. Not covered is damage from operation against the express specification of the manufacturer.
How must I charge the battery?
With the supplied charger, in the intended case, under supervision and not next to other boats. Only then does cover apply in the event of a thermal incident.
