Worth knowing
World Cat; cover, cost and conditions
World Cat is represented in the database with 36 power catamarans. The ranges run from the 230 DC and 230 SD via the 235 CC, 255 DC, the 280 series and 295 CC up to the 325 CC and DC as well as the 400 CC-X and DC-X. Production runs since 2003, with lengths of 2.7 to 12.1 m.
Power catamarans ride on two hulls but are insured like other motorboats: value and cruising area should be stated precisely in the policy. The smaller World Cat models are trailerable sizes, so transport is included in the hull cover.
NAMMERT insures World Cat catamarans regardless of build year and place of purchase. The premium is available in the online calculator in about 5 minutes.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
