Worth knowing
Alumilex Gdynia; cover, cost and conditions
Three model ranges of cabin catamarans are recorded here: TW 15 Kinga, TW 18M and TW 20M, built between 2011 and 2014. For boats from these years the agreed value is the decisive point, because it holds the arranged value in the contract and makes the indemnity in a claim comprehensible.
We insure regardless of the year of build, the place of purchase and previous owners. The full hull cover pays with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit, and covers collision, grounding, vandalism as well as theft of parts including the outboard. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online.
The limited hull cover responds in the event of fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. As the production of these catamarans lies in the past, many contracts come about after a used purchase. We cancel the previous policy free of charge through the switching service.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can cabin catamarans from the 2011 year of build still be insured?
Yes. The year of build, the place of purchase and previous owners play no part in acceptance. The value is arranged as an agreed value, and in the Premium tariff we pay with no age limit and with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
How does the switch from an existing policy work?
We cancel the previous policy for you free of charge. Afterwards you receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages, so that the cover can also be proven abroad.

Series by Alumilex Gdynia, build years and cover
TW 15 Kinga is a cabin catamaran from Alumilex Gdynia, built from 2011 to 2014.
TW 18M is a cabin catamaran from Alumilex Gdynia, built from 2011 to 2014.
TW 20M is a cabin catamaran from Alumilex Gdynia, built from 2011 to 2014.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
