Worth knowing
Faeton Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Faeton built boats in Valencia for the Spanish Mediterranean that also sail in Germany as second-hand imports. The Moraga models are cabin boats with good behaviour at sea, mostly with inboard propulsion. For the cover this means that grounding and damage to the drive have to be thought of together; both belong to full hull cover.
Anyone who keeps the boat in Spain needs the cruising area in the contract and the proof of third-party liability on board, because in Spain third-party liability is compulsory. Our office in Palma looks after Spanish berths in German and Spanish, which spares you the detour via an unfamiliar broker in the event of a claim.

Series by Faeton, with value and cover
Faeton 460 / 550 is a motorboat from Faeton (Spain), built from 1990 to 2015, and today changes hands at between €7,000 and €26,000.
Faeton 630 / 730 Moraga is a motorboat from Faeton (Spain), built from 1995 to 2020, and today changes hands at between €18,000 and €68,000.
Faeton 780 / 940 Moraga is a motor yacht from Faeton (Spain), built from 2000 to 2020, and today changes hands at between €45,000 and €165,000.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
