Three catamaran ranges bear the names C2, Viper and Foiling Viper Convertible, built from 2020 to 2024 as cabin catamarans. That does not amount to a broad programme with many variants. Small numbers are no reason for exclusion at NAMMERT, because small production runs and home-built boats can be insured as well.
For the classification the individual boat counts: type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range. The brand name is left out. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online, above that an individual review follows in which the particular features of the boat are recorded.
Full hull cover works with an agreed value and pays with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"); added to that are collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, and races with scoring status you state when taking out the policy. Third-party liability remains the basis.

Yes. We take on small production runs and home-built boats. What counts are the type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range, not the number of units in the model range.
How are races on a catamaran treated?
Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards. Races with scoring status you state when taking out the policy so that they are taken into account in the contract.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration
Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.

Lifesaving gear, fire extinguisher, anchor, signalling equipment and correct navigation lights.
Cruising range
The agreed cruising range is stated in the policy and can be extended at any time.

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
