Worth knowing
Hudson Yacht and Marine RMI, LLC; cover, cost and conditions
Three ranges are recorded: the cabin catamarans HH50 since 2016 and HH60 since 2021, both still in production today, plus the HH42 sailing yacht from the years 2009 to 2015. A multihull is rated by the same factors as a monohull, that is by type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range.
For trips across national borders we issue the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages. This lets you prove your cover to harbours, marinas and authorities without having to request the document separately.
In third-party liability a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros can be chosen. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy can be taken out online, and above that an individual assessment follows, which is the normal case with larger catamarans. Full hull cover works with an agreed value.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How do you prove the cover abroad?
With the international certificate of insurance, which is issued automatically in ten languages. It applies within the agreed cruising range and does not have to be requested separately.
Are catamarans rated differently from monohulls?
The premium follows the same factors: type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range. A cabin catamaran such as the HH50 is assessed on its own data.

What matters for catamarans and multihulls is the same across every brand; engine output, how a claim is settled, cruising range and theft protection. The class page lists every point and every brand in this class.

Series by Hudson Yacht and Marine RMI, LLC, build years and cover
HH50 is a cabin catamaran from Hudson Yacht and Marine RMI, LLC, built since 2016.
HH60 is a cabin catamaran from Hudson Yacht and Marine RMI, LLC, built since 2021.
HH42 is a sailing yacht from Hudson Yacht and Marine RMI, LLC, built from 2009 to 2015.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
