Worth knowing
Tamar; cover, cost and conditions
The Tamar 2000 is the only range recorded, built from 1977 to 1997. Over more than two decades, boats with very different years of construction were therefore created. They are insured regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, even though production ended long ago.
If a contract is already running for your boat, we handle the switch, because NAMMERT cancels the previous policy free of charge. You compare Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium at your leisure and base the decision on the limit of indemnity and the scope of hull cover, not on the cancellation date.
In full hull cover an agreed value is set, settlement is made with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Limited hull cover includes fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. The boat trailer is included at no extra premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does switching to NAMMERT cost anything?
We handle the cancellation of the previous policy free of charge. You tell us the previous insurer, we align the start so that cover passes over without a gap.
Does it matter that the Tamar 2000 has not been built since 1997?
No. A completed build period is not a ground for exclusion. Valuation is done via an agreed value rather than a new price, in the Premium tariff with no age limit.

Series by Tamar, build years and cover
Tamar 2000 is a motorboat from Tamar, built from 1977 to 1997.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
