The Komet range from Wiking is a piece of German boating history and is still strongly represented in the portfolio today. These are small, trailerable boats which are often run with outboards of between 15 and 60 hp. For the premium the power output is decisive, for hull insurance the engine with its serial number in the policy.

Hulls of this age bring two points to check: the transom and the floor frames. A soft transom, usually caused by water behind the engine mounting, is structural damage and is recognised by no hull insurance as a sudden event. Anyone who checks it at the time of purchase saves the discussion later.

For trailer use the following applies: transport, launching and craning are included with us, and the trailer is included at no extra premium if its value is stated in the policy.
