AB Inflatables; cover, cost and conditions
The AB Inflatables range covers 102 models built since 2001, almost all of them rigid inflatable boats. The largest block is the Alumina ALX line, built in close steps from 9.5 through 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 up to 18 ALX, alongside Jet models such as the 285 Compact and the 290. Lengths run from 2.4 to 8.5 metres, with the emphasis on tender sizes of three to five metres.
Use is the decisive factor when insuring an AB Inflatables boat. The small Alumina models often serve as tenders to a larger yacht, where liability is the basis and transport on deck or on a trailer can be included. The bigger RIBs up to 8.5 metres run independently, so value and cruising area belong in the application in exact form. For boats from the early model years from 2001 an agreed value is clearer than a depreciated value.

Yes. At 3.42 metres it is a typical tender size and can be included in the mother yacht cover or insured separately.

At 5.42 metres it is usually used on its own. Value and cruising area then become the key details, and trailer transport can be included.

Registration

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not. The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
