Apex Inflatables is listed with 38 models, all recorded as inflatables. The model names consist of A and the length in feet plus the version: Tender for the classic dinghies, Open for the open models, Sport for the larger versions with inboard or outboard power. Recorded build years lie between 2005 and 2013, lengths between 2.4 and 11 m.

The span from a 3 metre tender to an 8 metre sports boat means two different contracts. Small tenders often run under the main yacht's policy, provided they are named there. The large Sport models are boats in their own right with substantial value and belong on their own contract, with theft and transport cover, because inflatable and engine are usually stolen together.

What does the number in the name mean, for example A-15?

It gives the length in feet, so an A-15 is around 4.4 m long. For the premium what counts is the length in metres from the registration papers, plus engine power, value and cruising area.

Does an Apex tender run under my yacht's policy?

Often yes, as long as it is named there and its value is included. If the tender is used independently or carries a powerful engine, a separate contract is the clearer route.
