What is worth having is accident cover. It covers injuries from falls, from climbing back on and from the board or paddle, risks that are independent of the material value. With family use, all persons on board are insured provided they are stated in the application. On a board used by children and adults alike, that is the point that matters in practice.
We do not offer boat third-party liability insurance for muscle-powered craft. Check your private liability insurance; for beginners this is the most important point, because the most frequent cause of loss among beginners is a collision with other water sports users and swimmers. Also pay attention to the local rules: on some lakes navigation is only permitted in designated areas.
