Boats of this size are tenders and day boats, often with a small outboard or an electric motor. The most important protection is liability cover, because damage to someone else's boat bears no relation to the value of your own. Hull cover is mainly about theft: a folded inflatable with its engine is quickly loaded away, and both are usually taken together.

Frequent questions
Does a small inflatable need insurance at all?
Liability cover yes, and in many waters it is even compulsory. The value of your own boat is low; the damage to someone else's yacht need not be. Hull cover is worthwhile above all when a valuable outboard is fitted.
What do the codes ST, SS and LU mean?
They describe the construction: ST for the light inflatables, SS for models with a firmer floor, LU for rigid hull inflatables. The number after them gives the length in centimetres, so an LU 260 is around 2.6 m long.
