C-System; cover, cost and conditions
Four model ranges are recorded for C-System, all under the name Ventilo: the M1 and the M3 from 2013 to 2021, the M2 One Design from 2010 to 2022 and the 18 HT from 1995 to 2001. All four are listed as cabin catamarans. Whether they are sailed or motor-driven is not specified in our data.
For the premium at NAMMERT the data of the individual boat counts, that is the type of boat, value, year of build, propulsion and cruising range. Multihulls are rated by the same rules as monohulls, with no surcharge for the name of the yard. Third-party liability ranges from a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
As production of the Ventilo 18 HT ended back in 2001, these catamarans come into new hands second-hand. We insure regardless of year of build, place of purchase and previous owners, and full hull cover pays out on the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). You receive the international certificate of insurance in ten languages.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Are catamarans rated differently from monohull boats?
No. The same features count: type of boat, value, year of build, propulsion and cruising range. A cabin catamaran such as the Ventilo M3 is calculated on that basis, not on its hull configuration or its brand.
Can a catamaran from 1995 still be insured?
Yes. We insure regardless of year of build, place of purchase and previous owners. The value is agreed as an agreed value before the policy starts, and in the event of a claim compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).

Cruising range
The agreed cruising range is stated in the policy and can be extended at any time.

Check wind force in Beaufort and wind direction before casting off, and allow for gusts.
General guidance, not a complete account; what governs are the rules of the waters you are on and your boat’s manual. Current wind force and direction for your waters are shown on the Home.
Series by C-System, build years and cover
Ventilo M2 One Design is a cabin catamaran from C-System, built from 2010 to 2022.
Ventilo M1 is a cabin catamaran from C-System, built from 2013 to 2021.
Ventilo M3 is a cabin catamaran from C-System, built from 2013 to 2021.
Ventilo 18 HT is a cabin catamaran from C-System, built from 1995 to 2001.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
