Worth knowing
CEC Catamarans GmbH; cover, cost and conditions
An open catamaran, the iFLY15, is the only range on file from CEC Catamarans, and it has been built since 2017 to this day. No further details are available. That is enough for calculating the premium, because the type of boat, value, year of build, sail area and cruising range determine the price, never the brand.
For the cruising range we separate inland waters from coastal waters. Anyone sailing the catamaran on a lake pays differently from someone who is out on the coast. You state the waters when taking out the policy, and you receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.
An open boat is moved between outings, trailered, launched and stored in winter. Cover applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and on the transport route, and the boat trailer is included at no extra premium. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does a regatta with the iFLY15 fall under the insurance cover?
Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards. Races with scoring status you declare when taking out the policy, so that they are expressly stated in the cover.
Does the premium change when moving from a lake to the coast?
Yes, the cruising range is one of the premium factors. Report the change and we will adjust the cover; the international certificate of insurance is enclosed in ten languages.

Series by CEC Catamarans GmbH, build years and cover
iFLY15 is an open catamaran from CEC Catamarans GmbH, built since 2017.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repairs are predictable. Still, set the value at replacement cost, including sails, rigging or gear you bought later.
Open catamarans are beached and trailed, so most damage happens ashore and in transit, not on the water.
