RIBs are driven fast, and engine power drives the premium more than length does. On the larger models from 8 m upwards two outboards are often fitted, in which case their number and individual power must be stated in the policy. The second point is theft cover: these boats usually sit on a trailer or ashore, where a large share of the damage occurs.

How do I state two outboards?
Enter the total power and state the number and individual power in the application. Only then is the full engine value represented, and there is no discussion about the engines after a loss.
What does the number in the model name mean?
It gives the length in metres, so a Coastline Rib 7.5 is around 7.5 m long. For the premium the length from the registration papers counts, plus engine power, value and cruising area.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not. The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
