Seventeen model ranges are recorded, from the Cobrey 28 SC and the 28 SCL Carbon through the 33 HT and 33 SC to the models 42 Fly, 42 HT, 50 Fly and 52 HT. The earliest years of construction begin in 2010 and production continues to this day. No information is available on the location of the yard, and in any case it has no bearing on the premium.
Anyone taking a motor yacht of this size abroad needs proof of cover there. We issue the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages, so that it can be presented to harbour masters and authorities.
Since newer and older boats from these ranges are in service side by side, the value is agreed for each policy as an agreed value. Compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff without any age limit. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy can be taken out online; above that an individual assessment follows.

Do I need separate proof of cover for trips abroad?

How do you insure a high-value Cobrey 50 Fly?
Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online. Above that we assess each case individually. In full hull cover an agreed value applies with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration
Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
