HIFEI; cover, cost and conditions

HIFEI is listed with 100 models: 51 RIBs, 45 inflatables and four surf models. Build years start in 2006 and lengths run from 1.6 to 7.5 m. The Dolphin series from 320 to 420, the HFP series from 220 to 330 and the HHA series from 420 to 580 set the tone.

Inflatables and RIBs rarely stay in a marina, they are trailered, stowed on deck or carried in a car. The policy should follow them and cover transport and storage ashore as well. Liability cover is the basis, on the larger RIBs from about five metres with stronger engines hull cover is added, and the engine and trailer then belong explicitly in the contract.

Frequent questions

Is a HIFEI covered through the mother yacht as a tender?

Often yes, but only up to a certain size and usually without the outboard. On the larger HHA RIBs up to 5.8 m a separate policy is normally the cleaner solution.

Does the cover include the outboard?

The engine is listed separately in the contract. On HIFEI models from 1.6 to 7.5 m that makes a real difference, because the engine often accounts for a large share of the total value.
