Worth knowing
Navar Inc.; cover, cost and conditions
Navar Inc. covers 11 models in the NAMMERT data set: motorboats such as the Navar 465 Pasara and the 795 series in Cabin, Open and Tourist variants, motor yachts such as the Navar 710, 711 and the 1025 models, plus the Navar 40 rigid inflatable. Building has been going on since 2003, with lengths from 4.7 to 12.2 metres.
The smaller Navar models are trailerable: liability is the basis there, and transport should be included in the hull policy. For the motor yachts around 10 metres and the large Navar 40, value and cruising area belong precisely in the policy.
NAMMERT insures Navar regardless of build year and place of purchase. The premium for Navar insurance can be calculated in the online calculator in 5 minutes.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does NAMMERT insure a Navar 795 Cabin?
Yes. The Navar 795 Cabin is a 7.9 metre motorboat built since 2003 and can be covered with liability and hull insurance. Build year and place of purchase make no difference.
Can the Navar 40 rigid inflatable be insured as well?
Yes. At 12.2 metres the Navar 40 is the brand's largest listed model. What counts for this boat is a correct valuation and a cruising area that matches its use.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not. The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
