Worth knowing
Suter; cover, cost and conditions
Two ranges are recorded, the Waddi motor boat and the open Waddicat catamaran, both from 1986 to 1993. The basis of every cover is third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, selectable in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium.
Limited hull cover and full hull cover build on this. Limited hull cover bears fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the whole boat and damage in winter storage; full hull cover additionally bears collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard.
Both ranges ended in 1993, so the boats on the water today are second-hand. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners and pay according to the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). A boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How high is the limit of indemnity in third-party liability?
Depending on the tariff level between 10 and 50 million euros. Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium differ in this as well as in the scope of the further modules.
Is a Waddicat classified differently from a Waddi?
For the premium, type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range count. The type of boat has an effect through this; the scope of the tariff levels stays the same.

Series by Suter, build years and cover
Waddi is a motorboat from Suter, built from 1986 to 1993.
Waddicat is an open catamaran from Suter, built from 1986 to 1993.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
Open catamarans are beached and trailed, so most damage happens ashore and in transit, not on the water.
