Worth knowing
Wiebke; cover, cost and conditions
There are no model ranges on record for Wiebke in our portfolio. Nothing can therefore be said about types of boat, build periods or the breadth of the programme. For insurance purposes that is irrelevant: we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, and small series and home-built boats can be insured as well.
What counts is the boat itself. The premium is based on the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output or sail area and cruising range, never on the brand. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis, in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels.
Full hull cover works with an agreed value and pays compensation with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Limited hull cover bears fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage, and the trailer is included at no extra premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can a boat with no known model range be insured?
Yes. Small series and home-built boats can be insured, and we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. What counts for the contract are the details of the boat itself.
What details are needed for a quotation?
Type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output or sail area and the cruising range. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy can be taken out online; above that an individual assessment follows.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.
