A-14 Additional machinery cover, Watercraft Hull Insurance, Basis Plus

Where agreed and documented in the policy schedule or its endorsements, cover exists for machinery, contrary to A-6.2, up to the amount of the sum insured, to the following extent.
A-14.1 Insured items. Cover exists for the following mechanical installations: the main propulsion system including gearbox, shaft and propeller, auxiliary machinery and auxiliary units, water treatment systems, cooling systems, power generation and power conversion systems, pumps, davits and cranes, and electrically and/or hydraulically operated winches and servo motors. Pipework including its fittings, and storage and service tanks with their associated installations, are not included. The items named cease to be covered under this clause once they are more than 10 years old.
A-14.2 Scope of cover.
A-14.2.1 Misfuelling. Co-insured is damage to the insured items arising from misfuelling with water or fuels, including the taking on of contaminated fuel. Cover also comprises pumping out and disposal, cleaning the fuel system, and replacing the fuel. It does not, however, apply to any form of diesel bug.
A-14.2.2 Further insured losses. We also pay compensation for damage to the machinery of the insured craft (not to that of tenders, jet skis or other watersports devices) that arose as a consequence of a hidden defect based on a material or manufacturing fault, without replacement of the faulty or defective part itself; a design fault or defect, without replacement of the faulty or defective part itself; German law applies to the contract. The German wording of the conditions alone is binding; this translation is provided for understanding only. deformation or fracture of the shaft (including the cost of repairing or replacing the shaft); an operating error.
A-14.3 Condition for the payment. A condition of our liability is that the machinery has been serviced by a specialist firm in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications. Where the insured machinery is still within the manufacturer's warranty, you will assign such warranty claims to us up to the amount of the indemnity when the claim is settled.
A-14.4 Deductible. The deductible named in the policy schedule is to be applied to the machinery cover for each claim.
