8.4 Payment and consequences of late payment / first premium, Legal Expenses Insurance, Premium

8.4.1 Due date of payment When you receive the policy schedule from us, you must pay the first premium without delay after the expiry of 14 days. (“Without delay” does not necessarily mean “immediately”, but “without culpable hesitation, that is, as quickly as reasonably possible”.) 8.4.2 Later start of cover German law applies to the contract. The German wording of the conditions alone is binding; this translation is provided for understanding only. If you pay the first premium at a later time, cover begins only from that later time. We must, however, have drawn your attention to this consequence of late payment, in text form (example: letter or email) or by a conspicuous notice in the policy schedule. If you prove to us that you were not responsible for the late payment, cover begins at the agreed time.
