Where the two differ, the German text decides:
impaired. An accident may impair several parts of the body, internal organs or sensory organs. The degrees of permanent impairment determined under the preceding provisions are then added together. Where the function of both eyes or the hearing in both ears is impaired to the same extent, the degree of permanent impairment determined increases by half. Where function is restricted to differing extents, the degree of permanent impairment for the less damaged eye or ear is instead doubled. More than 100 per cent is, however, not taken into account. Example: as a result of an accident an arm has completely lost its function (70 per cent) and the function of a leg is impaired by half (35 per cent). Even though adding the degrees of permanent impairment gives 105 per cent, the permanent impairment is limited to 100 per cent.
