Where the two differ, the German text decides:
A-2.2.1 Conditions for the benefit. The insured person dies as a result of the accident within one year of the accident. Death as a result of the accident is also deemed proven where the insured person has been validly declared dead under section 5 (shipwreck), section 6 (aircraft accident) or section 7 (other danger to life) of the German Missing Persons Act (VerschG). If the insured person has survived the disappearance, benefits already paid must be repaid.
