The Cannes Yachting Festival ran from 8 to 13 September 2026 across the Vieux-Port and Port Canto. According to the organiser, it drew 56,600 visitors, with more than 680 exhibitors showing over 710 boats and yachts between 5 and 55 metres. Around 150 world premieres had been announced ahead of the opening.
The sources do not quite agree. The organiser and Boat Industry give 56,600 visitors, more than 680 exhibitors and over 710 boats, while Pressmare reported on 16 September 2026 around 56,000 visitors, 660 exhibitors and 700 boats. We use the organiser's figures. None of the sources gives a comparison with last year, so no conclusion about growth or decline can be drawn from them.
The split between the two harbours is worth knowing for anyone planning a visit: large motor yachts sit in the Vieux-Port, while Port Canto hosts sailing yachts, catamarans, smaller motor boats and pre-owned craft. The 50th edition is scheduled for 7 to 12 September 2027.
What this means for owners
A boat show changes nothing about insurance in itself. Buyers should, however, establish before signing exactly when the boat passes to them and how the delivery trip from the show harbour is to be handled, whether a yacht or catamaran is sailed home or a motor boat goes on a trailer. It is worth asking your insurer in advance from which day and for which passage protection applies.
