Prowake boats are often used as fishing boats and tenders, frequently with an aluminium floor and a small outboard. For fishing use the usual arithmetic applies: echo sounder, electric motor and battery quickly add up to more than the boat. Permanently installed equipment is included in the hull insurance if it is contained in the value.
During transport on the roof or in the boot the boat is likewise covered. Theft from the vehicle, by contrast, is a case where due care counts: a boat with its engine left visible in the car overnight is an invitation. Storing the engine separately is the simplest precaution.
