The A Tech range covers 29 models built between 2001 and 2015, all inflatable boats. It splits into the AD, AM, AN and AR series, whose numbers indicate size, from the AD 77 at 2.3 metres up to the largest boats at 5.5 metres. Most of the programme sits between two and four metres.
Two points matter when insuring an A Tech boat. On the small models liability is the basis, and transport on a trailer, in a car boot or on a yacht deck can be included. Since every model year falls between 2001 and 2015, an agreed value is preferable to a depreciated value for hull cover, so the sum insured is fixed in advance. The cruising area should be stated accurately even on small boats.

Can A Tech inflatables from 2002 still be insured?
Yes. The AD, AM, AN and AR series date from 2001 to 2015 and there is no age limit. For hull cover an agreed value makes sense.
Does an A Tech AN 130 count as a tender or as a boat in its own right?
That depends on how it is used. At 3.85 metres it can run under a yacht policy or be insured separately, and in both cases liability forms the basis.
