Worth knowing
ALFA Yacht; cover, cost and conditions
Ten model ranges are recorded for this brand, and they lie far apart. The cabin catamarans Alfa 360 and Alfa 450 as well as the motorboats Alfa 390, Alfa 440 Lux, Alfa 460 and Alfa 475 have been running since 2018 to this day. The sailing yachts Diva 24 SC, Diva 34 SC, Diva 40 SC and the Campus 7.4 were built between 2008 and 2021.
Boats of the 460 and 475 ranges are part of our own portfolio. The agreed value applies to them: the agreed amount is stated in the policy, and in the event of a claim the full hull cover pays out with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). Year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners do not exclude a boat with us, and the same applies to the older Diva yachts.
The basis remains the third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online, above that we review each case individually. You receive the international certificate of insurance in ten languages, and club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Are the sailing yachts of the Diva range eligible for full hull cover despite their year of construction?
Yes. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. The full hull cover works with an agreed value fixed in advance and pays out in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
Does it make a difference whether a cabin catamaran or a motorboat is insured?
The premium and the cover are determined by type of boat, year of construction, value, engine power and cruising range. An Alfa 450 as a cabin catamaran is therefore rated differently from a Diva 40 SC.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
