Worth knowing
BaltiCat Werft GmbH; cover, cost and conditions
BaltiCat Werft GmbH is recorded with seven models, all of them sailing catamarans. The range starts with the BaltiCat 40 at 12.2 m and runs through the 42 FC at 12.9 m and the 43 at 13.1 m to the 47 FC at 14.1 m and the 50 at just under 15 m. The Arrow versions 1200 and 1500 at 12 and 15 m join them. Recorded production runs from 1989 into the current model years.
BaltiCat sailing catamarans sit in the 12 to 15 m band and are built for cruising, often in the Baltic and North Sea. For the policy, cruising area and berth are the central entries, supplemented by a declared value that includes rig, sails and electronics. A multihull needs particular care here, because beam and construction make craning, berthing and repair different from a monohull. On older build years from 1989, an agreed value is the clearer route.
NAMMERT insures BaltiCat Werft regardless of year of build and place of purchase. Older units from the nineteen nineties and current model years run through the same process. The premium is calculated in the online quote tool in about five minutes.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is beam taken into account on a catamaran?
Yes. On models such as the BaltiCat 47 FC, beam affects berthing, craning and repair, so it belongs among the details in the application.
Can a BaltiCat 40 from 1989 still be insured?
Yes. For the early build years the value is agreed in advance so that overhauls of rig, engine and electronics are reflected.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
