The name says it: these boats are built for high speed. That shifts the risk considerably. An impact with floating debris at cruising speed causes substantial damage to hull and drive, and liability becomes more important, because a fast boat carries a different hazard potential around harbours and bathing areas. If you take part in races, that must be expressly agreed.

Frequent questions
Can powerboat racing be insured?
Yes, but only by express agreement and not under the standard policy. Racing carries a considerably higher risk and is assessed separately. Tell us which events you take part in.
Why does the liability limit matter more on fast boats?
Because at high speed the consequences of a collision are greater, especially for personal injury. A sufficiently high limit costs little extra and makes the difference when it matters.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not. The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
