Worth knowing
Dahl Naval; cover, cost and conditions
Dahl Naval builds rigid inflatable boats from 5.4 to 11.8 m: the range from the Dahl 18 to the Dahl 40, plus motor yachts such as the Dahl 36 AML and the P10 and the E660 motorboat. Build years start in 2009 and run to the present.
With RIBs of this span the exact model details count: small boats like the Dahl 18 are trailerable, so liability and covered transport belong together. For the 10 to 12 m models sum insured and cruising area take centre stage.
NAMMERT insures Dahl Naval regardless of build year and place of purchase. The premium can be calculated in the online calculator in about 5 minutes.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not. The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
