More damage occurs in winter storage than many people expect, and for most boats the months ashore are a fixed part of the year. Our cover expressly applies in winter storage as well as during craning and launching; damage in winter storage is already included in limited hull cover. A boat from Fritzmeier is therefore insured ashore just as it is in the water.
Four model ranges are documented and they cover both worlds: the sailing boat Monarch, the sailing yacht Magic Bus 1/4-Ton and the motor boats Dory 17 and Mehrzweckboot, built between 1972 and 1990. Depending on the type of boat, sail area or engine output goes into the premium, together with value, year of construction and cruising range.
A Dyas is already sailing in our own portfolio. Since all documented production periods end in 1990 at the latest, Fritzmeier boats change owner second hand today; we insure them regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, in the Premium tariff with full hull cover and no age limit.

Frequent questions
Is my Fritzmeier Monarch insured if something happens in winter storage?
Yes, damage in winter storage is already included in limited hull cover, as are fire, storm and theft of the whole boat. Cover also applies during craning and launching.
How is a second-hand Dory 17 from the 1970s rated?
By value, year of construction, engine output and cruising range, regardless of place of purchase and previous owners. Age is no obstacle: in the Premium tariff full hull cover applies with no age limit.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
