An agreed value means that the value of your boat is fixed bindingly when the policy is taken out. In the event of a claim there is no dispute about the current market value and no deduction for depreciation. That applies to a Prins from current production just as much as to a 720 GT, which was built until 2020.
The range of motor and sports boats extends from the 475 Open to the 625 Sundeck, and many model ranges have been produced since 2011 and 2012 respectively and continue today. My Prins 475 Open is almost new. Is an agreed value still worthwhile?
Yes, because the agreed value is binding in the event of a claim and is compensated with no deduction for depreciation. This secures the replacement value without any discussion about the current market value.
Can I insure a current Prins model directly online?
Yes, online conclusion is possible up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros, above that we assess the individual case. The premium is based on type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
