Relcraft; cover, cost and conditions

Between 1974 and 1982 the three Relcraft model ranges Rubin, Saphir and Zivcon were built. Since then the boats have changed owner on the used market. For such vintages the agreed value is the fitting framework: the value that was set applies, and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation.

The full hull cover in the Premium tariff knows no age limit, and we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. A boat from the seventies thus receives the same full hull cover as a young one. Damage in winter storage is covered by the limited hull cover as well.

A Relcraft 23 is already sailing in our own portfolio. Anyone taking over a Rubin or Saphir second hand can take out the legal expenses insurance for water sports at the same time: it helps in disputes after the purchase of a used boat. In this way not only the boat but also the purchase itself is covered.

Frequent questions

Does NAMMERT still accept a Relcraft from the 1970s for full hull cover?

Yes, in the Premium tariff the full hull cover applies without any age limit. An agreed value is set and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation.

What happens in the case of partial damage to an old Relcraft?

Compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation. The age of the 1974 to 1982 vintages therefore does not lead to reductions in the settlement.

What this means for the cover

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.

On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.

On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
