Worth knowing
Wax; cover, cost and conditions
In the portfolio there are boats with the designations Dreikieler and Sprint. There are no model ranges on record for this brand, which changes nothing about the insurance cover: we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, and small series and self-builds can be covered as well.
At the beginning there stands in every case third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, selectable in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. It covers the damage suffered by third parties, for example during a harbour manoeuvre or at the jetty, and it applies regardless of whether hull cover is added.
Limited hull cover and full hull cover can be added: fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage under limited hull cover; collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts under full hull cover. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is third-party liability alone enough for a small boat?
Third-party liability with 10 to 50 million euros is the basis and covers damage to third parties. For damage to your own boat you need limited hull cover or full hull cover, the latter with an agreed value and with no deduction for depreciation.
What details do you need for a boat with no catalogue entry?
The type of boat, the value, the year of construction, the engine output or the sail area and the cruising range are enough. The brand never enters into the premium, so a missing catalogue entry is no obstacle.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.
