Worth knowing
Admiral Boats; cover, cost and conditions
Anyone buying an Admiral today is buying used: the seven motor yacht model ranges from the Admiral 336 to the Admiral 588 were built between 1995 and 2005. What counts for the insurance is therefore not the original new price, but the current replacement value, which we record as a binding agreed value when the policy starts.
Boats from Admiral Boats are already sailing in our own portfolio, among them the Ocean Master 470 Sport and the Blue Sloep 160. Under full hull cover we settle claims at the agreed value and with no deduction for depreciation (new for old); in the Premium tariff this applies with no age limit, which can make the decisive difference for boats built before 2005.
The basis of every policy is third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. The premium for an Admiral is based on the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output and cruising range, never on the brand; up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
The Admiral Boats model ranges ended in 2005. Does the age of the boat matter?
We provide cover regardless of the year of construction. Under full hull cover the agreed value applies, in the Premium tariff with no age limit; claims are settled with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
What details do I need for a used Admiral motor yacht?
The type of boat, year of construction, current value, engine output and cruising range determine the premium. The place of purchase and previous owners play no part; up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy can be taken out online.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.

Series by Admiral Boats, build years and cover
Admiral 336 is a motor yacht from Admiral Boats, built from 1996 to 2005.
Admiral 377 is a motor yacht from Admiral Boats, built from 1995 to 2005.
Admiral 404 is a motor yacht from Admiral Boats, built from 1996 to 2005.
Admiral 445 is a motor yacht from Admiral Boats, built from 1996 to 2005.
Admiral 488 is a motor yacht from Admiral Boats, built from 1996 to 2005.
Admiral 508 is a motor yacht from Admiral Boats, built from 1996 to 2005.
Admiral 588 is a motor yacht from Admiral Boats, built from 1996 to 2005.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
